Before undergoing a lens exchange procedure, it is crucial to determine the appropriate type of lens that needs to be implanted. Should a mono-focal lens be used or would a multifocal lens provide better results? Regardless of the type of lens chosen, it is important to note that they are permanent and do not require replacement later on. Monofocal lenses offer the benefit of providing excellent contrast vision and a clear image. However, because these lenses have a specific strength, you need to choose whether you want to optimize for distance vision or reading vision. If fitted with a single-strength lens, you may still need glasses for reading or distance vision after surgery.<\/span><\/div><\/div>

Multifocal and trifocal lenses offer the benefit of providing clear vision at all distances. Additionally, these lenses can correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism. Typically, the vision for close-up objects becomes clear almost instantly, while there may be some brief adjustment period for focusing on objects at a distance. During this time, the brain needs to adapt to the improved image quality.<\/span><\/div><\/div>
Both eyes are operated on the same day, which is best because the vision center in the brain has an easier time getting used to the new sight.
